Left BackgroundText Box: How It Works

The short answer is that the Natural Air Regenerator replicates what is done by “Mother Nature” outdoors through the natural processes brought forth by radiation from the sun and earth, lightning, rain and other factors.

The Natural Air Regenerator produces negative ions which are naturally charged particles. These particles attach to dust mites, smoke, skin flakes and other airborne pollutants. It makes the pollutants too heavy to float, so they cannot stay in the air. It is the same reason air feels so fresh when you are near a waterfall.

Many people ask us what kind of filter does Natural Air use. And the answer is that it doesn’t. That’s because Natural Air is not a filter, it is an air regenerator. There is no filter to change or replace. It does have a fan, but the fan’s purpose is not to bring pollutants and odors into the machine, but to send the “air regenerating ions” out to destroy pollutants and odors at their source.

"Naturally Charged Particles" Fight Indoor Pollutants

So, you ask: “Since Natural Air doesn’t have a filter to collect pollutants, where does the stuff go that is cleaned out of the air? Good question. The simple answer is that the odors and gases are simply oxidized and turned into molecules of carbon dioxide and water vapor (they disappear); and the larger air-borne dust, dander and pollen settle to the floor where they can be vacuumed or mopped up in normal house cleaning.

These ions are electrically charged particles generated in nature by natural forces, like the sun and earth’s radiation, water spray and lightning. They are totally harmless to humans. Normal ion levels are from 1,000 to 4,000 ions per cubic centimeter in fresh country air, with a ratio of five positive to four negative. The typical office, however, many contain as few as 20 negative and 35 positive ions per cubic centimeter.

Ions are short-lived and need constant replenishing. That’s part of what the Natural Air Regenerator accomplishes. The balance of negative to positive ions has an effect on our sense of well-being. For example, doctors in Israel have reported that hot, dry “witch winds”, high in positive ions stimulate complaints of discomfort. Little wonder that most people feel their best when near waterfalls and beaches or in the mountains where negative ion counts are much higher.
